Left handed golfers find it difficult to find equipment even if they are pros.

Some of the greatest professional golfers are left handed: Greg Chalmers, Bob Charles, Russ Cochran, Steve Flesch, Ernie Gonzalez, Phil Mickelson, Mike Weir, and Kevin Wentworth. Phil Mickelson is currently third on the 2005 PGA Tour Money Leaders list.

How to find left handed golf clubs

Lefties golf clubs can be as hard to score as a hole in one. You can walk into sporting good store, and even some specialty golf stores, and you”ll be hard pressed to find clubs for left-handed players.

On the Other HandThe main reason for this is simple economics, supply and demand. According to statistics in the United States, left handers make up anywhere from four to ten percent of the total population. Naturally, then, the demand for left handed clubs is at best one-tenth the size of the demand for right handed clubs. This smaller market offers club manufacturers one-tenth the incentive to design, make, and market left handed golf clubs.

Left handed golf equipment is a niche market but more manufacturers are beginning to cater to it.

What are left handers supposed to do? There are lefties golf clubs out there. A good specialty golf store, whether a brick and mortar or online, should have a wide selection of individual left handed clubs and sets.
