It’s very easy for others to watch your golf swing and tell you what you are doing wrong. Even though you may be making mistakes, like not rotating your hands through the ball, it’s hard to see your own mistakes. That’s why a mini camcorder to record your golf swing is a great tool for understanding and improving your golf game. You can ask a buddy to record your golf swing and you can do the same for him. You can put your video up on YouTube and ask your friends or club pro to take a look at it.

Mini camcorders, like the Flip MinoHD and Flip UltraHD, are thin and small, so they can slip right into your golf bag or shirt pocket. When the Flip first came out, I bought one immediately. It so easy to use that any duffer can master it. But more recent versions have touch sensitive buttons, and other improvements that make the operation even easier. Plus the video is in HD, so the quality is superb, the colors vibrant, and the picture rock steady with little motion blur.

Many small video cameras are easy to operate, but the next step – sharing your video can be a bit difficult. With the Flip mini camcorders, uploading is simple. The flip out USB arm makes uploading your video to your computer easy, and the video files software works for most computers, even the Mac. Once connected to your computer, you can organize, edit and even email your video.

Imagine emailing your video to your golfing buddy halfway across the country. He can help you identify if you are dropping your left knee, swinging too quickly, and proper swing stance. You can also chronicle your improvement over time. Once you’ve fixed one problem, you can easily move onto correcting the next. Or maybe if develop a new bad habit that you would have never picked up on if you didn’t watch your on swing.

Priced at $70-$230, Flip mini camcorders are very inexpensive. Much less than you would pay a golf pro to improve your swing. With a touch of a button, you can now take strokes off your game.

Golf is often played not just for sport, but as a strategy for creating and strengthening business relationships. Indeed many people call it business golf, because a lot of real business is done during or immediately after a round of golf. Much of the success in utilizing golf as a business tool lies observing several unspoken rules. It all comes down to 5 simple rules.

Don’t be a jerk: Perhaps this is a bit too blunt, but I’m sure you catch my meaning. Don’t be too obvious about why you are playing. Showing up without a clue as to how the game is played is a sign of disrespect. Learn to play golf before you get in a game. This will not only help you gain the trust of your business prospects, but it will also save you from embarrassing mistakes.

Focus on the game: Whatever you do, don’t start the game with a business proposal. The day should be spent building rapport and relationships with clients and potential clients. Talk about business only when asked, or on the 18th hole.

Behave properly: Don’t get carried away by the relaxed environment and behave inappropriately. Avoid making jokes, voicing comments, or using gestures that could offend the other players. Remember that initial impressions count.

Conduct business golf the way you conduct your business: Be on time, ask the guest to play first, and be generous to your potential clients by volunteering to drive the cart. Don’t crow when you play well or make excuses when you miss a shot. It’s a game not life itself.

Dress appropriately: You don’t need to wear plus fours, but leave your old jeans at home. Take a clue from the way professionals dress for the tournaments you see on television. You may consult with the golf club if you are unsure what to wear.

Keep in mind that this is business golf not a round with your brother-in-law or a bunch of your college buddies. You may not be a golf pro but you are a business professional.

The power of business golf as a part of any business strategy is undeniable, so consider adding golf to your set of sales and marketing tools.

It’s that time again for golfers to make their New Year’s resolutions for next season. Here are some ideas to get you started:

For the New Golfers

Hit it straight: Slow down that swing, place those hands correctly, and hit the ball straight. There is no more satisfying thing in golf that watching the ball fly straight off the tee.

Temper, temper: Learn some self control when on the golf course. No one likes golfing with a club thrower.

For the Weekend Warriors

Learn courtesy: This may seem like a foreign language to many weekend warriors but this year try to be a bit more courteous to other golfers. Maybe you should yell fore when your tee shot is headed towards the group on the next green.

Remember – The ball is not your enemy: The ball is not your enemy, so stop trying to kill it. Most of the duffs, shags, shanks, and just plain bad shots made by weekend warriors happen because of swinging the club way too hard. Slow down and create a nice and even swing. You will be pleased with the results.

For our Future Touring Pros Who Aren’t Quite Pros Yet

One step at a time: Everyone wants to improve their golf game but you want to really take it to the next level. The best thing for you to do is pace yourself. You aren’t winning the US Open this year but that doesn’t mean you cannot take small steps in that direction. One step at a time and you will find yourself one step closer to your goal.

Practice, practice, practice: Your game is not going to get any better unless you work on it. Find the time each day to work on your swing and always consult the advice of a professional if you are truly serious about improving.

Most likely you’ve heard all this before, but just focus on one of these actions for your golf resolution will make a huge change in how well you play the game and how much you enjoy it.

I don’t like watching golf on TV. I can’t stand whispering. ~David Brenner

If you love the game of golf you are probably always looking for ways to improve your swing as well as your overall game. If you don’t have the time to take professional golf lessons, then why not just watch some golf events on TV. If you pay careful attention, you can easily pick up a few pointers by doing so.

Some players are great at a particular swing or putt, while others may illustrate the perfect execution of a particular technique. Whatever it is that you want to improve, you can learn very well from watching a pro on TV, often just as well as if you were taking private golf lessons.

Let’s take a look at some examples of how you can improve your game by watching golf on TV.

Elbow Alignment
One skill that many golfers seem to have a hard time to master is the elbow and wrist alignment at the top of their swing. By improving your elbow and wrist alignment you will refrain from going too far back in your back swing and it will keep you steady and in sync with your upper body. This in turn will improve the consistency and increase your swing speed.

If you are having trouble with elbow alignment just watch a golf event on TV and take special note of the elbow and wrist alignments of golf pros like Davis Love. Watch his moves, swings and, in particular, his elbow alignment.

Head Turn
What do you do with your head when taking a swing? Does it flow naturally with your swing or do you lock your head in a set position while you take the swing? If this is something that you need to improve, then once again watch carefully at what the pros do with their heads when they are taking a swing.

If you are one to have your head locked in a set position when you swing then you are doing it wrong. Take a look at the pros and watch as their heads turn naturally, which enables their hips to get out of the way of the swing, and gives their hit maximum power. Moving your head naturally during your swing will also avoid back and neck problems and will avoid stiffness after the game.

These are just a couple of tips that you can get by watching golf events on TV and I’m sure there are many more. Whatever it is that you lack in your game and need to improve, just pay particular attention to those details as you watch the pros.

Whether you are new and just learning golf or an experienced golfer wanting to improve your game, learning golf online may be just what you need. Online golf lessons can teach you how to improve your current techniques and offer useful tips and techniques that you might have not considered before.

The internet has a lot of information covering all aspects of golf so if you cannot afford to take professional lessons or just don’t have the time, then be assured that you can learn golf online and from the comfort of your own home.

Online golf lessons are usually much less expensive than traditional offline golf lessons and can still be just as effective. There are many websites available offering online golf lessons some of which are free and some paid. Many of the golf magazines have websites that offer tips or even detailed lessons to help you improve your golf game.

There are a number of different formats that may be used for online golf lessons. Some will have just plain text that will explain the techniques in writing, while others will have images to visually explain the techniques. In more recent times and becoming more and more popular are online video golf lessons. The benefit with video lessons is that they enable you to actually see the techniques in action, which is much easier to learn from than just reading plain text. You will be able to view in action how the pro golfers are so successful at what they do. Best of all you can replay the videos as often as you like.

Online golf lessons are prepared by professionals who have a good idea of which aspects of the game most people have trouble with and therefore their golf lessons will focus on these specific areas that most people will need. There are lessons to cover different aspects of the game and so you don’t need to complete a whole course but can just view the lessons on the area that you need to improve.

So whether you need to improve your grip, your swing, or learn how to tee up the ball properly, whatever it is that you need to improve you will be able to find the information to help you online. By using online golf lessons you will soon improve in those areas that you feel need improvement and you will have that golf score lowered in no time.
